Jaguar Technical Information System (JTIS) - Issue 8 Workshop Manual CD-ROM



ISSUE:



Workshop manual information for all S-TYPE, 1995-2000 MY Sedan Range and 1997-2000 MY XK8 has been released on CD-ROM (Part No.



JJM 10 30 99/00). A new feature is the inclusion of electrical schematics and DTC summaries. These new features require the use of a software



package called ADOBE Acrobat Reader that is included in the JTIS 8 software release.



This CD-ROM can be used on the Jaguar multimedia PC or any suitable Windows based PC with and minimum 133 MHz processor, 2.0 Gb hard



drive, 8x CD-ROM drive, and 24 Mb RAM.



ACTION:



Ensure that the software is installed in the lower CD-ROM drive (E:drive) of the Jaguar Multimedia PC. Refer to the inside cover of the CD-ROM



jewel case to install JTIS 8.



Check the START menu, programs to verify if the PC has ADOBE Acrobat Reader installed. If not, the program must be loaded using the following



instructions:

^ Click on Start



^ Click on Run



^ Click on the down arrow to open up menu options



^ Click on E:\Setup.exe



^ Click on Browse



^ Click and highlight Readergb, then open



^ Click and highlight Win, then open



^ Click and highlight Reader, then open



^ Click and highlight Bit32, then open



^ Double click on Setup.exe



The run window will display the following complete path:



E:\Readergb\Win\Reader\32Bit\Setup.exe



Enter Okay. The program will now load. Continue to follow the highlighted prompts.



If there was an operator error in loading the ADOBE Acrobat Reader software, the following message will appear when trying to view electrical



schematics or DTC summaries:



Information:



Acrobat Reader 3.01 needs to be installed on this machine.



1. Select the file Setup.exe from the folder \Readergb\Win\Reader\32bit on the installation CD.



2. Follow the default options by clicking on the highlighted buttons.



Note:



^ S-TYPE electrical schematics are located in the 1999 S-TYPE option.



^ If you wish to print the electrical schematics:



- Select from the Acrobat Reader toolbar:



* File



* Print



In the print option window:



* Select page(s)



* Print quality - High



*» Shrink to print



Then click OK.



The output will be the schematic formatted to fit on 8.5 x 11 paper.



^ To return to JTIS for more options click on the task bar button labeled Technical Service Publications with the JTIS icon.



^ ADOBE Acrobat Reader has its own Online Guide under the Help pull down menu.
