Streetside Classics - The Nation's Trusted Classic Car Consignment Dealer

Streetside Classics - The Nation's Trusted Classic Car Consignment Dealer This 1969 Ford Mustang is a real-deal Mach 1 coupe with bright red paint, speedy details, and a powerful V8 that's ready to show off. So this is the growling classic sports car with a bold attitude you've been waiting for. While the Mustang was the original pony car, these first-year Mach 1 specials have the fastback profile and beefy fenders to look like they went to stallion finishing school. That's especially true with this example. The Candy Apple Red is a nice upgrade with plenty of gloss to radiate in the sunshine. But you'll really love the red is because it does a great job of showing off this car's dark side. The blacked-out hood w/scoop, front air splitter, side/ rear stripes, and full-width spoiler really give this one attitude. There are also nice details, like the fog lights, hood pins, and bright chrome bumpers. But those who are truly detail-oriented will notice the wheels.

2019 Ford Mustang Mach-E Is The Next-generation Muscle Car, And It鈥檚 Electric!

2019 Ford Mustang Mach-E Is The Next-generation Muscle Car, And It鈥檚 Electric! Without a doubt, Ford鈥檚 Mustang is the most iconic muscle car of all time. On the other hand, the Mach-E is the next-generation pony car albeit in SUV form. It also happens to be an all-electric car, the first-ever in the history of Ford. The new Mustang Mach-E is the latest member of the Mustang family, something which Ford hasn鈥檛 done in the past 55 years. When the original Mustang came to market in 1964, it immediately became the symbol of freedom and confined rebellion. And now, the Mustang Mach-E is resurrecting the heyday of muscle car performance without the guilty pleasure of a magnificent V8 motor. It only took two years for the Edison team at Ford to create the Mach-E from scratch. But before that, Ford was already working on an all-electric vehicle using an all-new electric platform. Ford did the right thing. Faced with the prospect of competing head-on with the mighty Tesla Model 3 and upcoming M

1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 Specs

1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 Specs Just 1,806 were built in 1971, their lone year of production, and they remain among the hottest performers in the world of small-block Fords. The Boss 351's main claim to fame was its R-code V-8, whose 330hp at 5,400 rpm and 370-lbs.ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm would outgun a number of big-blocks. But the engine was just the beginning of the Boss's goodness. The 351 was bolted up to a Hurst-shifted four-speed manual transmission, with a Traction-Lok 9-inch rear end equipped with 3.91:1 gears. All came with the beefed-up Competition Suspension package and power front disc brakes. Externally, they were marked by their twin, functional "NASA" hood ducts, Mach 1 honeycomb grille, lower body paint treatment, bodyside stripes and 351 decals. The original Boss Mustangs, the 302 and 429, were introduced in 1969, developed for Ford by Kar Kraft Engineering of Brighton, Michigan. The Boss 302 duked it out with Chevrolet's hot Z/28 Camaro in Tr

2019 Ford Mustang Mach-E

2019 Ford Mustang Mach-E At Kings Ford, we're proud of the countless reasons why we stand head and shoulders above other Ford dealerships. Setting aside that healthy sense of competition, we also take great pride in representing Cincinnati within the larger Ford community and acknowledging what binds us together. In 2019, a great example of that comes as a result of Ford's EV initiatives and the excitement that surrounds them. Case in point: Ford's promise of a 'Mustang-inspired' all-electric SUV, the rumors of which have been circulating for the better part of a year. Simply put, it's been quite the conversation starter - be it right here on the dealer floor or via the countless articles found within various industry publications. And why wouldn't it be? Sure, the ever-increasing frequency of EV introductions is becoming a staple of current auto news, and the consumer shift toward crossover and SUV offerings has become more commonplace over time. However, i

Ford Licenses Classic Mustangs For Production

Ford Licenses Classic Mustangs For Production If you fancy owning a mint condition 1969-1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302, 1969-1970 Mustang Boss 429, or a 1969-1970 Mustang Mach 1, you'd better prepare yourself for a long and laborious search and some pretty eye-watering asking prices. But if you prefer the idea of a car that looks just like one of those originals but uses a modern chassis and running gear under the body, Ford has licensed a company called Classic Recreations to produce such vehicles. Classic Restorations is a company from Oklahoma in the United States that has a somewhat tainted history to be honest, but over the last few years it's been building some very impressive Shelby Mustangs with modern underpinnings under the body. Now the company is expanding its horizons and the new licensed trio of classic Mustangs will become available from them from later this year. Just as with the Shelbys, the new models will come with updated engines featuring fuel injection and com

Ford Mustang 69-70 Only !

Ford Mustang 69-70 Only ! Mustang and 69 or 70 ! The Mustang grew by another 4 inches. Mustang engines were a 200, 250 C.I. 302, 351, 390 and 428 V8鈥檚. The small block 351 Windsor was based on the 289/302 block. In 1970 the small block 351 Cleveland became available. The 390, 428 (and the 427) all were from Ford's big block. The Mach 1 was introduced and offered with the 351, 390 or 428, a stiffer suspension and was offered only as the Sportsroof (fastback). Manual drum brakes were standard with power front discs available. Limited production Boss 302鈥檚 and 429鈥檚 were offered to the public in the 1969 and '70 model years. Built to be professionally raced the Boss 302 was very successful in the Trans Am series. The Boss 429 was built for Nascar, but that engine was never raced there in a Mustang. Less than 9,000 Boss 302's were produced. As Shelby loses control to Ford executives of his Shelby Mustang he asks Iacocca to quit using his name. 1969-73 were the worse years for U

1966 Ford Mustang History

1966 Ford Mustang History If the average person thinks about the classic Mustang, perhaps the first thing that comes to mind is the 1966 Cherry Red Mustang Coupe. 66 Mustang is a smash! Ford sold more than 600,000 of these products, making it almost twice as popular than its competitor that year, the Chevy Impala. Actually, it is the best-selling Mustang of all time! 1966 Fastback is not so popular with coupe. Ford sees this as an opportunity to redesign to attract more mass, so 1966 is the last year for the original design of the original Fastback Mustang. In our day, the low production of the 1966 Mustang fastbacks, as well as the fact that it was redesigned the following year, made it a highly collectible vintage car. What are the differences between the 1965 Mustang and the new 1966 Mustang model? The most obvious difference is trim. The new 66 aircraft is equipped with new front grille, side grille, side trim, gas cap and wheel cover. Under the hood you will find several new upgra

Mach-E: Ford Mustang Inspired EV

Mach-E: Ford Mustang Inspired EV Separate names with a comma. Color me surprised that the first real Tesla competitor comes out of Ford, who had apparently been keeping their EV cards close to their chest. They did their homework, this looks like a great crossover. If I was into crossovers, I would definitely be considering this vs a Y. I have like 10 Ford dealers that are closer than my Tesla service center (1.5 hours away) so that would be a huge benefit. Plus Electrify America is nearly on par with Tesla here in CA for my routes, they have been expanding a lot in the last year. Biggest question is charging and efficiency. 47 miles range in 10 minutes with 150kW chargers. How many 150kw CCS chargers are around? Electrify America is expanding, but they are behind Tesla. It should compete in performance and handling though, that's for sure. Will dealers be able to sell and service them? This is not new to Ford. They have learned a lot in the past decade. Their battery management is

Boating And Fishing Forum

Boating And Fishing Forum Ford Mustang Mach-E - Really? They should have called it the E-questrian. This way it's still a horse and it's still electric. MattGoose and wiread like this. My position is that unless the government makes it mandatory to buy one or mandatory that companies build them and then give tax credits then no one would want one. Maybe Im just not a huge fan of hypocritical politicians peddling fake science to dictate my transportation preferences. The previous administrations fuel economy rules are essentially mandating a lot of BEVs are sold. The only way to meet the numbers are to sell all small vehicles, or big vehicles and many EVs that get a 200-300 mpg equivalent rating. So, the prices of trucks will go up to support the sales of EVs. So does this mean Ford is no longer going to build the Mustang many of us have loved for the last six decades? Looks like our 2010 will remain in the stable even longer! There will still be a Mustang. It'll be moving t

2019 Ford Mustang Mach-E Unveiled

2019 Ford Mustang Mach-E Unveiled Ford鈥檚 future is electric, it鈥檚 also going to be Mustang-shaped and we鈥檙e going to see it next month. A new teaser revealed the Pony-car inspired silhouette of the new car, and also gave a reveal date of 18th November. But while Ford was releasing teasers, one Instagrammer has gone one better and accessed CAD drawings that preview the whole design. It seems someone鈥檚 let slip early, with the computer-generated renders paving the way for the AllCarNews Instagram account to then complete a rendering. According to them, the car will be named Mach-E and they claim 'insiders' gave them input on the design of the car. Between the CAD renderings and teasers we鈥檝e seen before, it seems the imaginations they鈥檝e created are as close as we鈥檝e ever been to seeing the real thing. You can see the classic Mustang taillights feature, and the raked roofline that tapers more toward SUV-coupe style rather than all-out SUV. The front fascia also remains quite accu

What Exactly Is The Mach-E?

What Exactly Is The Mach-E? LOS ANGELES 鈥?The 2021 Mustang Mach-E announced here Sunday night in Elon Musk鈥檚 backyard is a compact crossover that runs on electricity, for as much as 300 miles. There is no gasoline-engine option. More than that, Mach-E is Ford鈥檚 bet on the future shifting away from combustion engines, toward electrification, and toward driver assistance that becomes self-driving if the driver wants it and the technology is ready. Mach-E is also the answer to the question of what Jim Hackett has been doing at Ford since taking over as CEO 30 months ago. Turns out he was rebuilding the company and chose to use the most beloved Ford name of the past half-century to be Ford鈥檚 stalking horse for electrification. It worked: There would not have been 500 journalists and fans in attendance if this was the 2021 Ford Escape Electric. Which is what this new vehicle might have been called before Hackett found Ford鈥檚 EV plans to be timid. If this electrification push sounds like For

LEAKED: This Is The Ford Mustang Mach-E Before You鈥檙e Meant To See It

LEAKED: This Is The Ford Mustang Mach-E Before You鈥檙e Meant To See It An online configurator has leaked photos and specification details just days before the official reveal. The Ford Mustang Mach-E will make its world debut in just a few days on November 17 at an event in LA hosted by Idris Alba. Unfortunately for Ford, the surprise has been spoiled because photos and details of the electric SUV have already leaked online. Ironically, they were leaked directly from Ford, as someone made the SUV's online configurator live too early. Ford quickly removed the page, but members of the MachE Forum saved some screen captures. We get a good look at the electric SUV from just about every angle, and the similarities to the Mustang pony car are abundant from the headlights and taillights to the front fascia and muscular fenders. There's also a closed-off grille that resembles the Mustang's grille. A photo of the interior shows the Mustang Mach-E will have a Tesla-esque cabin, with a

Mustang Rare: The 1967 Ford Mach 2

Mustang Rare: The 1967 Ford Mach 2 One of the more awesome Ford projects of the 鈥?0s never made it to the production line, but that doesn鈥檛 prevent us from drooling over it today. Here鈥檚 the story of the Mach 2, the Mustang-based mid-engine GT. You could say that Ford鈥檚 Total Performance program of the 1960s was an embarrassment of riches. For car enthusiasts, there was almost too much to take in, with multiple campaigns in drag racing, NASCAR, Formula 1, and Indy cars, not to mention the Cobra and the Ford GT. With so much going on, a few of the Dearborn automaker鈥檚 projects have nearly have slipped into obscurity. Take for example the 1967 Ford Mach 2, a fascinating mid-engine, two-seat GT that was actually based on a production Mustang floor pan. Designed by the crack Ford studio team headed by styling vice-president Gene Bordinat, the Mach 2鈥檚 exterior sheet metal was thematically similar to a number of Ford projects. Simulated air intakes in the rear deck give away the engine loca

We Love Ford's, Past, Present And Future

We Love Ford's, Past, Present And Future For 1971, Ford introduced a newly styled Mustang that had grown noticeably larger and heavier than the model it replaced. Blame it on consumer demand, or perhaps market research, which showed that buyers wanted more room and more luxury from their pony cars than ever before. Not willing to shed the Mustang鈥檚 performance image, Ford was quick to play up the earlier model鈥檚 racing success in print advertising. Yes, Mustangs had captured over 2.0-liter Trans Am titles in 1966, 1967, and 1970, but these cars were significantly different from the 1971 Mustang. Compared to the 1970 Mach 1, the new version gained just over two inches in overall length (and an inch in the wheelbase), nearly two and a half inches in width, and roughly 150 pounds in weight. As any racer will tell you, weight is the enemy of performance. Stopping distance tells a different story. In 1970, the Mach 1 went from 60 to zero in 148 feet. A year later, Road Test reported tha

2019 Ford Mustang Vs. 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

2019 Ford Mustang Vs. 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Ford Mustang than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Ford Mustang and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the front seats. You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Ford Mustang as you will with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas. There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the Ford Mustang is clearly a better financial choice over the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Ford Mustang will cost more in transportation cost

Ford Mustang Mach-E Debuts With New Attitude

Ford Mustang Mach-E Debuts With New Attitude Between the lines: The strategy shift came in late 2017 after CEO James Hackett joined the company. Ford had been working on its first dedicated EV model to satisfy regulators, but Hackett feared it wouldn't stand out in a sea of expected plug-in models. He pulled the plug on the effort and pushed engineers to come up with a new, "aspirational" design in just six weeks. They tapped into what makes Mustangs exciting and translated it into an electric SUV. Executive chairman Bill Ford is the one who blessed the idea of calling it a Mustang. Details: The Mach-E goes on sale in late 2020 and will be available with standard range (230 miles) and extended range (300 miles) battery options, with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. Free mobile charge cords so customers can plug their vehicles into either 240- or 120-volt outlets. Optional installation of a faster-charging home station, in partnership with Amazon.
