Ford Mustang Mach-E - Really? They should have called it the E-questrian. This way it's still a horse and it's still electric. MattGoose and wiread like this. My position is that unless the government makes it mandatory to buy one or mandatory that companies build them and then give tax credits then no one would want one. Maybe Im just not a huge fan of hypocritical politicians peddling fake science to dictate my transportation preferences. The previous administrations fuel economy rules are essentially mandating a lot of BEVs are sold. The only way to meet the numbers are to sell all small vehicles, or big vehicles and many EVs that get a 200-300 mpg equivalent rating. So, the prices of trucks will go up to support the sales of EVs. So does this mean Ford is no longer going to build the Mustang many of us have loved for the last six decades? Looks like our 2010 will remain in the stable even longer!

There will still be a Mustang. It'll be moving to a new platform that will be more flexible. Likely we will see a hybrid version and an awd version. But it will still have a V8 and rwd. Afishinado and I Love Beer like this. Location: Fly over country. As much as I love internal combustion vehicles, their end is near. Almost all the racing series either are or talked about going "hybrid". Even NASCAR, The end is near for gas-powered vehicles. Most promising alternative is hydrogen power, even that has its negatives. Within the next ten years, all will be run by "alternative" power source. So who is the moron at Ford who thinks naming Fords first all electric SUV a Mustang was/is a good idea? Ford will use the Mustang name, previously reserved for its classic muscle car, for an electric SUV that customers in the United States, Canada and Europe can start ordering on Nov. 17, the company said on Thursday. Ford confirmed its new electric SUV will be called the Mustang Mach-E ahead of a debut event scheduled for Los Angeles on Sunday.

Until now, the Mustang name has been used only on a line of sporty coupes associated with Detroits 1960s muscle car era. 11.5 billion as it moves away from traditional gas-powered cars. I have no problem with Ford going towards electric - but who in the universe thinks a Mustang should become an SUV! Probably a cousin of the guy that thinks turning off the electric grid in California whenever it goes up in flames and then orders evacuations of people forced to buy electric cars. Tesla Model 3. 0-60 3.2 seconds, top speed 162 mph. What is downhill about that? How many times can it successively hit 162? As much as I love internal combustion vehicles, their end is near. Within the next ten years, all will be run by "alternative" power source. I can say no more. And as other manufacturers start pumping out there own EVs, think about the drop in revenue to TESLA as those guys don't have to pay anymore. Within the next ten years, all will be run by "alternative" power source. Hydrogen is not really "power", it's just a transmission and storage medium, just like a battery. Unless you can find a reservoir of it somewhere, it's really not much different that natural gas, which is mostly H2 ( it has 4 hydrogen atoms for each carbon one). How many times can it successively hit 162?
