Ford Mustang 69-70 Only !

Mustang and 69 or 70 ! The Mustang grew by another 4 inches. Mustang engines were a 200, 250 C.I. 302, 351, 390 and 428 V8鈥檚. The small block 351 Windsor was based on the 289/302 block. In 1970 the small block 351 Cleveland became available. The 390, 428 (and the 427) all were from Ford's big block. The Mach 1 was introduced and offered with the 351, 390 or 428, a stiffer suspension and was offered only as the Sportsroof (fastback). Manual drum brakes were standard with power front discs available. Limited production Boss 302鈥檚 and 429鈥檚 were offered to the public in the 1969 and '70 model years. Built to be professionally raced the Boss 302 was very successful in the Trans Am series. The Boss 429 was built for Nascar, but that engine was never raced there in a Mustang. Less than 9,000 Boss 302's were produced. As Shelby loses control to Ford executives of his Shelby Mustang he asks Iacocca to quit using his name. 1969-73 were the worse years for US auto-releated fatalities with about 55,000 killed each year. 1970 Clean Air Act passed by Congress giving the Federal Government the authority to regulate vehicle emissions. Imports are 14% of U.S.

Being a traditionalist at heart, he sought out as many genuine components as possible. He even removed an aftermarket EFI system that came with the engine in favour of a more authentic Edelbrock Thunder 650 cfm four-barrel carburettor. While wanting to maintain the original appearance of the classic American muscle car, graham wasn鈥檛 averse to improving some of the mechanical parts. As a result the car is packed with mods, including a period-correct Windsor 351 block fitted with 302 Cleveland heads (in the so-called Boss or Clevor configuration). Then there鈥檚 the Tremec five-speed gearbox (TKO600 Road Race) with a custom bell housing which allowed for a concentric hydraulic clutch actuator/thrust bearing. The original recirculating ball steering box and drag links were replaced by a Flaming River rack and pinion steering setup, and the front suspension modified with a 鈥楽helby Drop鈥?configuration and larger front and rear bars. Rear springs were replaced with five leaf 鈥榤id-eye鈥?type. The body also came in for some special treatment, fixing up some of the uneven panel gaps that came straight from the factory. The body was stripped and placed on a rotisserie, where welds were broken and refinished and dents levelled.

I could add this wire but I don't know where it would go into the regulator. Right now the connection to the regulator has three wires, white to F, yellow to A and green-red to S. . I think the small alternator harness with the three prong connector is for a non-light application, it has black-yellow, white, and red-black wires only. How do I fix all this? Your blog is the only one I've found that's understandable, hope you can help! I have a gauge harness but want to use a charge light. I have wired the light correctly but it doesn't come on. I think this is because the alternator stator wire is missing, the alternator hatness is for a gauge car. Can I add the white-black wire, and if so, where does it go into the regulator? Right now the regulator wiring has white going to F, yellow to A and green-red to S. Thanks! I have a parasitic power draw on my 1965 coupe. I have replaced the alternator, voltage regulator and starter solenoid. Upon using a test light, I get power to ALL posts on the back of the alternator even with the key off. I'm not certain what should have power and what should not when the key is off.

Ford insists that this is a new Mustang. Rear three-quarter does have some Mustang. Does that grille look like a Mustang? From here it looks like a Honda Crosstour. Don't let the ratty paint fool you. This dilapidated Datsun is packing a swapped-in Chevy LS V8. This 280Z hails from the mid-1970's, and while it's seen better days, it's faster now than it ever was when new. A bit of a sleeper, then. Speaking of sleepers, here's a great example. The Taurus SHO is a discreet performance variant of the otherwise plain Ford Taurus. The name dates back to the 1980's, and those three letters identify this car as a hot rod in disguise. Moreover, this car has been tuned by the fine folks at Hennessey, and now sports twin turbos. This one gets my personal seal of approval. Car design in the 1990's was overwhelmingly bland, but this is a rare exception. BMW's 8-series coupe was remarkably pretty, integrating all of the hallmarks of 90's design into a shape that was actually brilliant-looking. The pop-up lights, subtle fender bulges, and sporty proportions made this performance coupe stand out from the pack.
