Passenger Air Bag Warning Label - Mandatory Installation

Issue:

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) legislation has been enacted requiring the MANDATORY installation of a Passenger Airbag Warning Label to all vehicles manufactured on or after February 25th 1997. Jaguar Canada has a voluntary agreement with Transport Canada to extend the action to the Canadian Market. This legislation therefore applies to all Jaguar S-TYPE vehicles.

The legislation requires that the label should be positioned so that it is clearly visible to the customer at the time of the vehicle being handed over when first sold as a new vehicle.

Action:

A Passenger Airbag Warning Label, printed on one side in English and on the reverse in French, is supplied with each vehicle for North American Markets. The label is supplied complete with an elastic cord to retain it in position, and should be found located on the lid of the passengers glovebox, as illustrated on the next page.

It is MANDATORY that this label should remain attached to the glovebox lid at the time of delivery of the new vehicle to the customer. Dealers are requested to hold a small number of spare labels in their Parts stock to cover the possibility of loss or damage to the original factory-supplied label during the delivery cycle, or should a label become detached and lost while a vehicle is on display in a showroom.

Dealers should ensure that personnel responsible for new vehicle preparation are fully aware of the content of this Technical Bulletin, together with all Sales Staff responsible for the delivery of new vehicles to customers, so that compliance with the NHTSA legislation is observed.

NOTE:

This check is part of the new car dealer preparation.

THE FOLLOWING ACTION IS MANDATORY IN USA AND CANADA

PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNING LABEL

Under NHTSA legislation this instruction applies to all Jaguar S-TYPE vehicles.

Check the following during final dealer preparation of a new vehicle for delivery to the customer, particularly where the vehicle has previously been exhibited in a showroom prior to sale:

^ Ensure that the passenger airbag warning label is attached in a prominent position on the front of the glovebox lid, as illustrated below, so that the label will be fully visible to the customer.

^ In French-speaking regions of Canada, the label should be reversed, so that the French text faces outwards.

^ Should the label be missing or damaged, supply and attach a new label.

POSITIONING AIR BAG WARNING LABEL

It may be necessary to cut a small 'V' notch in the label, Illustration 1, to provide a positive location for the elastic strap.

Jag F-Type, XE, XJ, S-Type, X-Type, XK8, XKR & More zero To 60 Stats!

This serves as a reminder that from now on, I’m running yr-to-date auto gross sales ever quarter rather than month-to-month gross sales columns, with share will increase or decreases in contrast with the same period a year earlier. It additionally lowers or rises into place in 12 seconds, at speeds of up to 30 mph. 385 dearer.), you get a supercharged 6.2L V8 making 556 horsepower, a 6-velocity transmission of either the automatic or handbook persuasion, 0-60 mph in as little as 3.9 seconds, and a top speed in the vicinity of 190 mph. The 400 Sport is just accessible with the computerized transmission and aluminum shift paddles. It has a tiny trunk and a snug however comfortable two-seat cabin, with firmer and extra heavily bolstered sport seats as the facility levels rise. The F-Type suffers for being a sportscar, however not more than its rivals. On high of that, Jaguar affords EliteCare, a typical package of warranty and upkeep coverage that outpoints all its main rivals. These engines will appear familiar to you: they're the ones found in the V6 Jaguar F-Type. The base F-Type starts with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (296 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque) paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

A 340HP base model upgrades to a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine (340 horsepower, 332 lb-ft of torque) paired to a selection of the six-velocity manual or the eight-velocity computerized. Those cars carried out well for his or her respective eras, but fashionable occasions dictate trendy pace, and that's why the F-Type will be had with as much as 575 hp from a supercharged V8 engine. In black on fairly modest wheels, it is fairly discreet as modern AMG vehicles go. Additional features embody 20-inch wheels, upgraded brakes, gloss black exterior trim, auto-dimming facet mirrors, keyless entry, premium leather-based upholstery and sport seats. Features embody 18-inch alloy wheels, an energetic sport exhaust, LED headlights and taillights, automated wipers, power-folding and heated aspect mirrors, and rear parking sensors. With somewhat too much throttle, you possibly can make the SVR start to oversteer, bringing the rear round, however solely a bit -- then the electronics step in with authority.

And with the SVR variant, every nice factor concerning the F-Type expertise is brighter, louder, more participating. The highest-trim SVR uses the next-output V8 (575 hp, 516 lb-ft) and adds front parking sensors, a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, upgraded inside trim and a heated steering wheel. A 380HP model gives a better-output engine (380 hp, 339 lb-ft), non-obligatory all-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels, an adaptive suspension, a limited-slip differential and upgraded brakes. The engine isn't where the F-Type affect ends, both. To us, the prospect of purchasing a 495 PS (488 HP) F-Type with just 13,000 miles (20,921 km) on the clock is pretty exciting. A supercharged V-6 powers the base and S trim ranges, and a supercharged V-8 propels the F-Type V8 S. I drove S trim versions of each engines, on a monitor as properly as the roads round Seattle. A step up from that's the Dynamic, which adds a driver-selectable lively exhaust and numerous gloss black exterior trim pieces.

The options checklist is lengthy, however highlights embrace the carbon-ceramic brake bundle, which provides larger brakes, yellow calipers and 20-inch wheels (it's only out there for computerized-transmission fashions). All fashions come with the same old power features, a 770-watt audio system, power seats, leather, and on coupes, a panoramic sunroof. F-Type S models include active exhaust and driver-configurable dynamics. Britain’s Car Magazine has revealed a comprehensive report in regards to the 2020 F-Type and there’s an interesting point out of a BMW engine. The 2015 Civic Type-R would use a turbocharged 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine with a claimed output of round 320 hp. A 400 Sport derivative rounds out the subtrims, boosting engine power to four hundred hp and adding full leather seats and panel upholstery, a heated steering wheel and customizable ambient interior lighting, and assorted cosmetic details. A couple turns out of the pits, there’s a characteristic that is like the Corkscrew, besides that it goes right-left instead of left-proper. Under very heavy braking the rear end wanders around a little bit, like a McLaren and some different efficiency vehicles we’ve been in recently. This SLK55 is one of the more reasonably priced Mk3 automobiles at £31,995, the very cheapest now dipping under the magic £30K barrier.
