9. Carefully remove old adhesive from rear view mirror mounting block and windshield.

Caution:

Use care not to damage black mounting area on windshield.

10. Clean rear view mirror mounting block and windshield with suitable solvent.

11. Using masking tape, construct a rectangle to indicate location for rear view mirror mounting block.

12. Apply 'Permabond' F Grade 5 Initiator sparingly to the windshield.

13. Place rear view mirror mounting block to front.

14. Apply 'Permabond' F 246 adhesive to mounting block.

15. Immediately align and install rear view mirror mounting block to windshield.

16. Hold rear view mirror mounting block in correct location for one minute.

17. After a period of 15 minutes has elapsed remove and discard masking tape.

18. Clean excess adhesive, if any, using suitable scraper.

19. Remove protection cover from fascia after a period of at least 6 hours, but preferably 24 hours.

20. Install interior rear view mirror to rear view mirror mounting block (for auto-dimming mirror, see Workshop Manual, JTIS CD ROM, section,

21. Reconnect battery and install battery cover and close luggage compartment.
