 Jaguar XJ (X351) V8-5.0L SC Technical Service Bulletin # JTB00224 Date: 110525
Tire Monitor System - False Warning Triggered
NO: JTB00224
ISSUE: 1
DATE: 25 MAY 2011
SECTION: 204
Tire Pressure Monitoring System False Trigger
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
XJ (X351) VIN: V00001-V21616
Model Year: 2010 - 2011
CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning light may be illuminated with the message Tire Pressure Monitoring Fault displayed in the
message center. The Body Control Module (BCM) will also have logged code C1D18-00 in isolation. The charging circuit emits a 125MHz
electromagnetic pulse which is picked up by the TPMS wheel sensor, causing the system to fail to localize all of the sensors.
NOTE:
Ensure DTC C1D18-00 is the only code stored; other system faults may also cause this DTC to be stored in combination with other DTCs.
NOTE:
Replace all four (vehicle set [five low tire pressure sensors if the vehicle's spare tire / wheel is fitted with a TPMS sensor]) low tire pressure sensors
for this concern.
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to replace the complete set (four or five) low tire
pressure sensors.
