CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

A driver warning message, EDIFF SYSTEM FAULT, may be displayed in the message center and Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P186D-00, as

well as P080A and / or P0806, will be stored in the Electronic Rear Differential Control Module (RDCM). This may be caused when the rear

differential motor is energized while the motor brake is still partially engaged, resulting in mechanical wear of the motor assembly and eventually

leading to a stuck actuator and DTC P186D-00 being stored.

Action:

In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to replace the rear differential locking motor assembly

and reconfigure the RDCM.
