Service Action: Center Console Lid Release Button
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
XJ (X351) VIN: V00001 - V15167
Model Year: 2010 - 2011
CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: A concern has been identified on certain 2010 - 2011 model year XJ vehicles within the above VIN range where the center console lid
release button cosmetic appearance may become "ribbed" and "wavy" over time. This could cause difficulty for customers in opening and closing
the console lid.
Action: Dealers are required to update all affected vehicles within their control and withhold them from retail delivery pending completion of the
rework actions detailed in this bulletin. Affected vehicles in the hands of owners should be repaired at the next available opportunity. At the time of
customer appointment, ensure that all outstanding service campaigns for each individual vehicle are identified and allocate sufficient time and
resources to complete all campaigns. Refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to replace the Floor Console Stowage Compartment Lid Latch.

Repair procedures are under constant review, and therefore times / prices are subject to change; those quoted here must be taken as guidance only.
Always refer to DDW to obtain the latest repair time. Check DDW to ensure that the vehicle is affected by this Service Action prior to undertaking
any rework action.
Warranty claims should be submitted quoting Program Code K088 and the relevant Option Code. The Option Code which contain drive in / drive
out may only be claimed if the vehicle is brought back into the workshop for this action alone to be undertaken.
This Service Action is valid for a limited time only. Warranty claims with a repair date up to the 30 April 2013 closure date must be submitted for
payment within 30 calendar days of completion of the repair.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
REPLACE FLOOR CONSOLE STOWAGE COMPARTMENT LID LATCH
1. Refer to Workshop Manual section 501-12: Instrument Panel and Console, and replace the Floor Console Stowage Compartment Lid Latch.
