CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
On vehicles equipped with powerfold mirrors, the powerfold function may be inoperative or working incorrectly for one or both mirrors. This may
be caused by the plug within the mirror housing backing out~, slightly breaking the circuit.
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to repair the affected mirror(s) plug(s).

NOTE:
Repair procedures are under constant review, and therefore times are subject to change; those quoted here must be taken as guidance only.
Always refer to DDW to obtain the latest repair time.
DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
VERIFY POWERFOLD MIRROR FUNCTION IS FITTED / AUTOMATIC MIRROR FOLD BACK SETTING
1. Use DDW to verify vehicle is fitted with powerfold function.
2. If fitted, verify and record customer~ Mirror fold back preferences: (Figure 1)
^ Mirror fold back 'Off' or 'On'.
REWORK MIRROR ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
1. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 501-09: Rear View Mirrors, and remove the affected mirror exterior cover(s).

NOTE:
The mirror motor electrical connector may not always be visually backed out.
2. Inspect the mirror motor electrical connector; the connector may be backed out from the powerfold actuator aperture. (Figure 2)
3. Apply sufficient force to fully engage the mirror motor electrical connector, ensuring minimal contact with connector and other wiring. (Figure
3)
4. Carry out a diagnosis of the powerfold mirror, ensuring full operation.

5. Check the mirror motor electrical connector is fully engaged into powerfold aperture after completing diagnosis. (Figure 4)
CAUTION:
Avoid excess sealant coming in contact with the mirror motor electrical connector wiring.
6. Apply a suitable silicone sealant to both the mirror motor electrical connector and powerfold aperture, ensuring that both mating areas are
covered sufficiently but not excessively. (Figure 5)
7. Ensure all the electrical wiring is installed in the correct position.
CAUTION:
Ensure no residue of silicone sealant has come in contact with the exterior of the mirror or vehicle.
8. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 501-09: Rear View Mirrors, and install the affected mirror exterior cover(s).
9. Verify mirror powerfold operation.
