Headliner Rattle From Roof Opening Panel Aperture
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
A rattle noise may be heard from the headliner at the roof opening panel area. This may be caused by freeplay in the headliner clipping
feature.
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to replace the headliner clips and install
foam pads.

INSTALL FOAM PADS; REPLACE HEADLINER CLIPS

CAUTION:
Use care to not bend or damage the headliner.
1. Use a suitable trim tool to pull the headliner down at the rear of the roof opening panel aperture: (Figure 1)

Release the clips.
NOTE:
The rear center clip has been deleted from VIN R40100 onwards; for vehicles prior to this VIN, remove and discard the rear
center clip.
2. Remove and discard the headliner clips: (Figure 2)

Ensure any debris is removed from between the headlining and roof opening panel.
CAUTION:
Use care to not bend or damage the headliner.
3. Install the two new clips (C2Z11576) into the original lefthand (LH) and righthand (RH) fixing points of the headliner.
NOTE:
Ensure the foam pads are fitted approximately 1.0cm (0.40 in) away from the clips to allow them to be fully engaged.

4. Cut the foam block (C2D7817) in half (115mm in length [4.5in]). (Figure 3)
5. Position the foam pads centrally in front of the clips:
(Figure 3)
Attach the pads to the headliner.
CAUTION:
Use care to not bend or damage the headliner.
6. Install the headliner to the roof opening panel aperture:
(Figure 4)
Ensure the clips are fully engaged.
