Jaguar I-Pace Emits Pedestrian Warning Sound: Would It Make You Look?

Variable valve timing has been a feature on all gasoline Jaguar engines for many years, and now the technology is making its way into the diesel: the new Ingenium engines benefit from a cam phaser on the exhaust side. Variable exhaust valve timing enables more rapid catalyst heating, thereby minimizing harmful emissions during the critical warm-up phase. Coupled with a cooled low-pressure EGR and a highly efficient selective catalytic reduction system, the Ingenium engine has been designed to meet EPA Tier3-160 and California LEVIII-160 exhaust emissions standards, which are among the most stringent in the world. Developed from the very beginning to meet stringent US emissions standards, this clean, powerful and refined Jaguar Ingenium "20d" 180hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel delivers an impressive 318-lb. ft.
