News: 2019 Jaguar I-Pace Revealed

Ahead of the auto show, Hollywood actor Ansel Elgort put his driving skills to the test behind the wheel of the all-electric I-PACE to take-on the Jaguar Smart Cone Challenge. Two and a half years ago, I test drove the Tesla Model S and had one thing to say: believe the hype. Its pricing is closer to an Emgrand model. It even learns your habits. This will allow owners to check the car’s range, lock status and more without leaving the house or even picking up a smart device. The racecar is also all-wheel-drive, produces 395 hp, so performance wise, the powertrain is actually more than up to the task. It’s very neatly packaged in the floor, a skateboard design that is very good because it has a very low center of gravity, which the racecar has as well. The disappointing element of my Changan review last year in Shanghai was the uneven interior quality of its lineup: apart from the very strong CS75 the rest was falling apart. Changan is a big player now, but is in the process of losing its soul. There was just no real excitement, energy and pride on the stands, it felt like business-as-usual everywhere, there were no race car to spice up the Changan stand, no frank smiles on the hosts. Won’t there be an imperative to raise the power to make them even faster?
