First Official Video Footage (Update: First Ride Video!)

Ford has just unveiled the Mustang Mach E at a private event at the LA Auto Show. Electrek is on the scene and will be bringing you updates in our Ford Mustang Mach E livestream news hub post. In addition to the livestream and media drives/information we鈥檝e been given, Ford has released some footage of the vehicle and we鈥檝e assembled a YouTube video running down the key points of the electric crossover SUV. In the video we see some better exterior shots. Previously we had camouflaged spy shots and photos from Ford鈥檚 website leak, but now we have some nice action shots and panning shots of exterior and interior details, which show a lot more than what we鈥檝e seen before. In particular, previous photos didn鈥檛 really show how the door handles work. Now we know that the doors open with buttons on the B- and C-pillars, with a small handle on the front door to help pull it open. We鈥檝e also been given a closer look at the center touchscreen display, which is also operable with a physical wheel control embedded at the bottom of the display. Despite being a whole new interface made for the Mach E, the display will incorporate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Update - Also check out Seth鈥檚 first ride video in the Mach E, after the event. How fast is it? Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) Chief Executive Elon Musk pioneered high-performance electric vehicles. Ford plans to join Porsche and other automakers in catching up. Ford is aiming to make the standard Mach E鈥檚 time from 0 to 60 miles per hour faster than the least expensive Porsche Macan sport utility. The Mach E GT鈥檚 acceleration target is in the 鈥渕id-3-second鈥?range - on a par with a high-performance Porsche 911, Ford said. How big is the dashboard screen? Ford will offer a 15.5 inch screen in the Mach E. The Tesla Model 3 offers a 15-inch (38 cm)screen. Ford has developed a new generation of its Sync infotainment software that can be updated over the air, like a Tesla. When will the Mach E go on sale? Mustang coupes deliver a distinctive engine growl that is as much a part of the brand as the pony logo. The Mach E will have no pistons or exhaust pipes. Ford said it will make noises in three modes: Whisper, Engage and Unbridled. How much can it haul? The Mach E will have 59.6 cubic feet of load space with the rear seats folded down. The vehicle will also have a front trunk, or 鈥渇runk,鈥?that can carry 4.8 cubic feet of stuff - and has a drain in the bottom that makes it usable as a drink cooler.

This 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is finished in Bright Red over black vinyl and is powered by a 351ci V8 backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission. A repaint was commissioned under previous ownership in Bright Red, which is the original shade according to the Marti report. New rubber seals were reportedly fitted, and a chrome front bumper has been installed in place of the factory rubber piece. The removed unit is included in the sale. Model-specific side decals were left off, though a new set accompanies the car. The suspension system was rebuilt within the last 1k miles, with work said to include new front coil springs, shocks, and rear leaf springs and bushings. A new master cylinder was fitted during the rebuild of the brake system, and a set of staggered-width 15鈥?Magnum 500 wheels are equipped with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The interior features a new headliner, dash, carpets, seat upholstery, and door panels. 3-point shoulder harnesses and new rear seat belts are equipped, and the factory AM/FM 8 track was retrofitted for iPod connectivity.

New speakers have been installed in the factory locations. Approximately 52k miles are shown on the odometer, though total mileage is unknown. The M-code 351ci V8 was rebuilt within the past 5k miles according to the seller and is said to feature updated internals, rebuilt heads, and refinished exhaust manifolds. The original Autolite carburetor was rebuilt, though the engine is currently equipped with a new Edelbrock Performer unit. The C-6 automatic was refreshed at the same time and fitted with an aftermarket shift kit. Power is distributed through a rebuilt 9鈥?rear end fitted with 3.50:1 gears installed by the seller. The Deluxe Marti Report is shown above, listing the car鈥檚 build date of December 10, 1970 and delivery to Mid-Way Ford in Toppenish, Washington. Included in the sale are the window sticker, factory rubber front bumper, spare wheel, jack, lug wrench, rebuilt Autolite 4V carburetor, and a new Mach 1 side stripe decal set. A video of the car is attached below. You are not connected to real-time updates.
