CONDITION SUMMARY:
INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE LOCK LEVER CHROMIUM PLATE PEELING
Situation:
This bulletin has been issued to inform dealers of a service part that has been made available to resolve chromium plate peeling concerns for the
interior door handle lock lever. The interior door handle lock lever chrome finisher can now be replaced without replacing the complete interior door
handle.
Action:
Should an interior door handle lock lever chromium plate show signs of peeling, refer to the Repair Procedure detailed in this bulletin to install a
new interior door handle lock lever chrome finisher.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
REPLACE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE LOCK LEVER CHROME FINISHER
1. Open the door that requires a new door handle lock lever chrome finisher.
2. Using a small flat bladed screwdriver or suitable device, carefully displace and reposition the rear edge of the handle lock lever chrome
finisher free from the door lock lever. (Figure 1)
3. Hold the door release handle in the open position. (Figure 2)
4. Using a small flat bladed screwdriver or suitable device, carefully displace and remove the lock lever chrome finisher from the lock lever.

5. Release the door release handle to the closed position.
NOTE:
The new chrome finisher simply pushes on and "clicks" into correct position over the retaining tangs on the handle lock lever.
6. Carefully install the new lock lever chrome finisher, ensuring the chrome finisher has "clicked" securely over the retaining tangs on the handle
lock lever.
