Luggage Compartment Will Not Open / Rear Parking Aid Camera

CONDITION SUMMARY:



Situation:



The luggage compartment lid may not open or the rear Parking Aid camera may be inoperative. These issues may be caused by the wiring in the link



harness being broken through



Action:



In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to install a new luggage compartment lid link wiring



harness.

REPAIR PROCEDURE



REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LID LINK HARNESS



NOTE:



Use the emergency key inside the Jaguar Smart Key System(TM) handset to gain access if the luggage compartment lid cannot be opened

remotely.



1. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 501-05: Interior Trim and Ornamentation Specification, and remove the luggage compartment lid trim panel.



NOTE:



LH shown; RH similar.



2. Release the right-hand (RH) luggage compartment trim panel: (Figure 1)



^ Remove the two clips.



3. Disconnect the two electrical connectors. (Figure 2)



4. Release the luggage compartment lid gaiter at both ends. (Figure 3)



NOTE:



Note the fitted position of the component prior to removal.

5. Remove the luggage compartment lid link wiring harness:



(Figure 4)



^ Disconnect the two electrical connectors



^ Release the fir tree clip.



CAUTION:



Make sure that the optical cable does not bend excessively during installation. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the



component.



6. Install the new luggage compartment lid link wiring harness: (Figure 4)



^ Carefully position the harness through the trunk lid and body apertures.



^ Secure the fir tree clip.



^ Connect the two electrical connectors.



7. Secure the gaiter at both ends. (Figure 3)



8. Connect the two electrical connectors. (Figure 2)



CAUTION:



Make sure the luggage compartment weatherstrip is correctly seated to the luggage compartment trim panel. Failure to follow this instruction



may result in damage to the vehicle.



9. Secure the RH Luggage compartment trim panel. (Figure 1)



10. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 501-05: Interior Trim and Ornamentation Specification, and install the luggage compartment lid trim panel.
